On September 16, the unveiling ceremony of Joint Graduate Laboratory for Embedded System Design and Application was successfully held in Nanhu Campus. Zhao Xiaohui, Dean of College of Communication Engineering, and Yin Gang, Director of Business Development of Freescale, unveiled the plaque of the lab. Ma Li, Freescale University Program Manager and Liu Fu, Associate Dean of the College, completed the handover of the 32-bit embedded microcontroller experimental system on behalf of Freescale and the College respectively.

Dean Zhao thanked Freescale for its strong support to the teaching and research of the College in the past 16 years, and hoped both parties could maintain closer contact and deepen cooperation for mutual benefit in the future. In his speech, Director Yin emphasized the relationship between students' practical skills and strength in finding jobs. Cheng Zheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, praised Freescale's extraordinary sense of social responsibility and encouraged students to give back to society after achieving academic success.

According to the Embedded System Design and Application Laboratory Cooperation Agreement signed between Jilin University and Freescale™ Semiconductor (China), the company shall provide experimental equipment for embedded system related products and the College shall provide supporting equipment and funding. Based on the establishment of three undergraduate laboratories in April 2011, the Graduate Lab was officially launched on September 16, 2012. At present, the Graduate Lab is available for experiments for a master's degree course Embedded Operating System and Microcontrollers, and also provides a research site for excellent undergraduates, postgraduates and faculty for practical research, innovative practice and graduation project. The launch of the Graduate Laboratory marks the deeper cooperation between Freescale and the College, and also provides better condition for cultivating graduate students' innovation ability.

After the ceremony, the attendees attended the lecture on Freescale's product roadmap and latest solutions for automotive electronics put forward by Yang Tao, Freescale's Senior Application Engineer of Automotive Electronics.
