From 25 September, 2022 to 27 September, 2022, under the call of the Student Mental Health Guidance Center, College of Communication Engineering held a group counseling activity with the theme of “We Are a Loving Family” to promote acquaintance, build mutual trust and enhance team cohesion among the 2022 freshmen. The activity was guided by the Student Mental Health Guidance Center and hosted by the postgraduate student peer counselor, Chen Siyu, with the support of the freshman class monitors and psychological committee members, and the participation of all 2022 postgraduate students.

The activity consisted of five sessions. First, the postgraduate student peer counselor, Chen Siyu, introduced the theme, goals and expected time of the activity. Then came the “One-Minute Applause” session, and the activity was formally kicked off with the applause of the freshmen. Then the transition session, the “Trust Journey”, followed, in which the “blind” students and the “guiding students cooperated well and learned to trust others. In the “Collective Landing” and “Human Alphabet” sessions, each student gave full play to his or her imagination, testing the wisdom and the cooperation spirit of a team. The two sessions brought the activity to the climax and greatly enhanced team cohesion. In the session of “Passing on Happiness”, each participant actively discovered the strengths and merits of others, and also got to know themselves and evaluated themselves better with the help of the team. At the end of the activity, each group of students worked together to draw a “Group Tree”. The group members gave advice and suggestions to the group tree, created delicate pieces, and shared their creative ideas with other students. Finally, the students took a group photo and ended the activity with the song “A Loving Family”.

The group counseling activity “We Are a Loving Family” helped the students to get to know and understand each other through games, and also helped them to know themselves better and discover their own strengths. The activity ended in laughter. May CCE students zealously help each other, join hands with joy and laughter, and spend unforgettable campus time together in their rest postgraduate life!
