In accordance with the requirements of the Notice in 2021 on Fire Prevention and Control of Jilin University This Winter and Next Spring, the College of Communication Engineering held 2021 Mobilization and Deployment Meeting in meeting room 508, Nanhu campus office building on December 3. The meeting aimed to ensure fire safety of the College, prevent and curb major accidents. The College’s leadership team, heads of departments (centers), party branch secretaries and all administrative staff attended the meeting chaired by Vice Dean Shi Yuping.

At the meeting, Shi Yuping clarified the requirements of the Notice. Based on the potential risks found by the College and Nanhu Campus Security Office on Nanhu Campus’s first teaching building and communication laboratory, he pointed out that we should prevent the hidden dangers found, pursue a safe development concept, and understand the significance of winter and spring fire prevention and control, so as to curb major fire accidents. Shi Yuping also arranged the College’s subsequent fire safety work according to the actual situation. Firstly, all departments and centers should implement the requirements of relevant documents after the meeting, and clarify the demand of the meeting to every faculty member. Secondly, hidden danger investigation work, particularly for the laboratory, should be continued to eliminate potential risks. We should use power strips in a right way, and put fire safety rules on the wall. Thirdly, as the College has been equipped with fire blankets, first aid kits and other firefighting facilities, the person responsible for fire safety in each room should regularly check and report to the College in time if there is any damage.

Finally, Dean Sun Xiaoying emphasized in her summary that as fire safety concerned all teachers and students of the College, all departments should attach great importance to it, strengthen bottom-line thinking and safety awareness to prevent fire safety accidents.
